Volume of Trades Up by 30%

Within the week ending on March 15, 2024, the IME witnessed trade of 4,175,615 tonnes of commodities with a total trading value of more than 991 million USD on its physical market.

According to a report by the IME's International Affairs and PR, the exchange saw on its metals and minerals trading floor trade of 3,166,445 tonnes of commodities valued at more than 604 million USD.

On this floor the IME sold 1,507,288 tonnes of cement, 872,500 tonnes of iron ore, 602,842 tonnes of steel, 166,500 tonnes of sponge iron, 7,945 tonnes of aluminum, 7,380 tonnes of copper, 1,510 tonnes of zinc, 450 tonnes of molybdenum concentrate and 30 tonnes of precious metals concentrate.

Based on this report, the exchange saw trade of 1 tonnes of saffron on its agricultural trading floor.

Furthermore, the IME witnessed on both domestic and export rings of its oil and petrochemical trading floor 918,311 tonnes of commodities worth more than 364 million USD.

Commodities traded on this floor included 352,685 tonnes of bitumen, 289,000 tonnes of vacuum bottom, 109,805 tonnes of polymeric products, 107,000 tonnes of lube cut, 40,970 tonnes of chemicals, 14,325 tonnes of sulfur, 3,476 tonnes of oil and 1,050 tonnes of feedstocks.

The IME also traded within the same week 5,858 tonnes of goods on its side market.
