IME Touched Higher Records in Value of Trades

Within the week ending on December 15, 2023, the IME witnessed trade of 3,061,119 tonnes of commodities with a total trading value of nearly 707 million USD, posting growths of 0.24% and 9.5% in volume and value of trades compared with the week before that.

According to a report by the IME's International Affairs and PR, the exchange saw on its metals and minerals trading floor trade of 2,547,168 tonnes of commodities worth more than 478 million USD.
On this floor the IME sold 1,337,034 tonnes of cement, 578,000 tonnes of iron ore, 522,753 tonnes of steel, 114,500 tonnes of sponge iron, 12,610 tonnes of aluminum, 8,281 tonnes of copper, 1,075 tonnes of zinc, 1,000 tonnes of coke, 200 tonnes of molybdenum concentrate, 150 tonnes of cast iron and 15 tonnes of precious metals concentrate.

Furthermore, the IME witnessed on both domestic and export rings of its oil and petrochemical trading floor 471,092 tonnes of commodities valued at more than 212 million USD.
Commodities traded on this floor included 174,250 tonnes of vacuum bottom, 126,376 tonnes of bitumen, 98,650 tonnes of polymeric products, 35,000 tonnes of lube cut, 31,385 tonnes of chemicals, 5,037 tonnes of oil, 958 tonnes of petroleum products, 800 tonnes of sulfur and 625 tonnes of feedstocks.
The IME also traded within the same week 42,933 tonnes of goods on its side market.
