Iron Ore Changed Hands on IME

On Saturday, March 2, 2024, the IME witnessed trade of 180,000 tonnes of iron ore concentrate, 79,000 tonnes of vacuum bottom and 340 tonnes of polymeric MDI (PMDI) on its open auction trading floor.

According to a report by the IME's International Affairs and PR, the IME sold on its metals and minerals trading floor 275,000 tonnes of iron ore pellets, 70,000 tonnes of sponge iron, 45,100 tonnes of CRC for auto-makers, 20,900 tonnes of steel blooms, 12,388 tonnes of I-beams, 9,550 tonnes of CRC for home appliance manufacturers, 8,072 tonnes of rebars, 3,100 tonnes of CRC and 65 tonnes of aluminum alloy ingots.

There were also 1,020 tonnes of cement sold in matching trading system.

Next was the IME's oil and petrochemical trading floor with trade of 21,700 tonnes of lube cut (light grade), 3,533 tonnes of polymeric products and 2,935 tonnes of chemicals.

It's worth noting that the export ring played host to trade of 36,600 tonnes of bitumen.

Last was the IME's side market which saw trade of 195 tonnes of brass slabs, 150 tonnes of polyethylene wax, 90 tonnes of glass wool, 20 tonnes of copper sections and 3 tonnes of brass sheets and strips.
