Commodities Traded on IME Exceeds 3.2 Million tonnes

Within the week ending on February 9, 2024, the IME witnessed trade of 3,029,447 tonnes of commodities with a total trading value of more than 883 million USD on its physical market.

According to a report by the IME's International Affairs and PR, the exchange saw on its metals and minerals trading floor trade of 2,323,199 tonnes of commodities valued at nearly 585 million USD.

On this floor the IME sold 1,147,302 tonnes of cement, 595,856 tonnes of steel, 460,000 tonnes of iron ore, 85,500 tonnes of sponge iron, 20,000 tonnes of cast iron, 8,750 tonnes of aluminum, 7,270 tonnes of copper, 700 tonnes of zinc, 250 tonnes of molybdenum concentrate and 21 tonnes of precious metals concentrate.

Moreover, the IME witnessed on both domestic and export rings of its oil and petrochemical trading floor 601,555 tonnes of commodities worth more than 270 million USD.

Commodities traded on this floor included 224,971 tonnes of bitumen, 175,000 tonnes of vacuum bottom, 107,289 tonnes of polymeric products, 41,671 tonnes of chemicals, 19,000 tonnes of lube cut, 11,450 tonnes of sulfur, 5,503 tonnes of oil, 500 tonnes of waterproofing materials and 350 tonnes of feedstocks.

The IME also traded within the same week 63,692 tonnes of goods on its side market.
