IME Touched Higher Records in Value of Trades

Within the week ending on October 20, 2023, the IME witnessed trade of 3,089,400 tonnes of commodites with a total trading value of nearly 808 million USD, posting growths of 10% in value of trades compared with the week before that.

According to a report by the IME's International Affairs and PR, the exchange saw on its metals and minerals trading floor trade of 2,661,672 tonnes of commodities valued at almost 580 million USD.

On this floor the IME sold 1,235,212 tonnes of cement, 601,245 tonnes of steel, 554,000 tonnes of iron ore, 254,000 tonnes of sponge iron, 8,745 tonnes of copper, 5,200 tonnes of aluminum, 2,250 tonnes of cast iron, 850 tonnes of zinc, 200 tonnes of molybdenum concentrate and 125 tonnes of lead.

Based on this report, the IME witnessed on both domestic and export rings of its oil and petrochemical trading floor 417,530 tonnes of commodities worth more than 220 million USD.

Commodities traded on this floor included 129,388 tonnes of bitumen, 95,594 tonnes of polymeric products, 76,700 tonnes of vacuum bottom, 54,000 tonnes of lube cut, 39,831 tonnes of chemicals, 15,380 tonnes of sulfur, 6,482 tonnes of oil, 600 tonnes of waterproofing materials and 410 tonnes of feedstocks.

The IME also traded within the same week 10,198 tonnes of goods on its side market.
