Iron Ore Pellets Traded on IME

On Saturday, October 7, 2023, the IME witnessed trade of 377,000 tonnes of iron ore pellets on its metals and minerals trading floor.

According to a report by the IME's International Affairs and PR, the IME sold on the same floor 109,000 tonnes of sponge iron, 32,000 tonnes of steel blooms, 7,880 tonnes of rebars, 1,000 tonnes of CRC for auto-makers, 506 tonnes of I-beams and 200 tonnes of CRC for home appliance manufacturers.

Based on this report, the exchange saw trade of 13,000 tonnes of lube cut (lightweight), 2,548 tonnes of chemicals, 1,541 tonnes of polymeric products, 1,200 tonnes of bitumen, 816 tonnes of slack wax (heavy grade) and 280 tonnes of granular sulfur on its oil and petrochemical trading floor.

Also, the IME sold 12,155 tonnes of cement in matching trading system.

IME's open auction trading floor was the next which saw trade of 175,000 tonnes of iron ore concentrate, 50,000 tonnes of iron ore lumps, 8,000 tonnes of vacuum bottom and 154 tonnes of methylene diphenyl diisocyanate (MDI).

It's worth noting as well that the IME's export ring saw trade of 50,000 tonnes of steel blooms and 26,870 tonnes of bitumen.

Last but not least was the IME's side market with 4,531 tonnes of coil rebars traded on it.
