Volume of Trades Up by 7.6%

Within the week ending on September 22, 2023, the IME witnessed trade of 3,232,681 tonnes of commodities with a total trading value of more than 874 million USD on its physical market, posting growths of 40.7% in value of trades compared to the figures of the previous week.

According to a report by the IME's International Affairs and PR, the exchange saw on its metals and minerals trading floor trade of 2,624,003 tonnes of commodities valued at nearly 583 million USD.

On this floor the IME sold 1,263,321 tonnes of cement, 566,997 tonnes of steel, 494,000 tonnes of iron ore, 286,000 tonnes of sponge iron, 6,908 tonnes of copper, 4,385 tonnes of aluminum, 1,000 tonnes of cast iron, 400 tonnes of zinc, 200 tonnes of molybdenum concentrate and 45 tonnes of precious metals concentrate.

Moreover, the IME witnessed on both domestic and export rings of its oil and petrochemical trading floor 605,374 tonnes of commodities worth more than 289 million USD.

Commodities traded on this floor included 204,923 tonnes of bitumen, 190,000 tonnes of vacuum bottom, 95,501 tonnes of polymeric products, 47,800 tonnes of lube cut, 40,459 tonnes of chemicals, 15,110 tonnes of sulfur, 5,896 tonnes of oil, 4,160 tonnes of petroleum products, 1,500 tonnes of slop wax, 680 tonnes of feedstocks and 200 tonnes of waterproofing materials.

The IME also traded within the same week 3,304 tonnes of goods on its side market.
