IME Touched Higher Records in Value and Volume of Trades

Within the week ending on April 19, 2024, the IME witnessed trade of 4,187,029 tonnes of commodities with a total trading value of more than 1.1 billion USD, posting growths of 48% in value and 35% in volume of trades compared to the figures of the previous week.

According to a report by the IME's International Affairs and PR, the exchange saw on its metals and minerals trading floor trade of 3,444,523 tonnes of commodities valued at more than 842 million USD.

On this floor the IME sold 1,231,185 tonnes of cement, 1,072,500 tonnes of iron ore, 719,580 tonnes of steel, 405,600 tonnes of sponge iron, 7,270 tonnes of copper, 6,780 tonnes of aluminum, 1,100 tonnes of zinc, 200 tonnes of cast iron, 200 tonnes of molybdenum concentrate and 18 tonnes of precious metals concentrate.

Based on this report, the IME witnessed on both domestic and export rings of its oil and petrochemical trading floor 630,296 tonnes of commodities worth nearly 294 million USD.

Commodities traded on this floor included 223,160 tonnes of bitumen, 188,000 tonnes of vacuum bottom, 97,195 tonnes of polymeric products, 42,039 tonnes of chemicals, 66,000 tonnes of lube cut, 6,370 tonnes of sulfur, 6,233 tonnes of oil and 470 tonnes of feedstocks.

The IME also traded within the same week 47,209 tonnes of goods on its side market.
