IME Touched Higher Records in Value and Volume of Trades

Within the week ending on September 23, 2022, the IME witnessed trade of 3,023,000 tonnes of commodities with a total trading value of nearly 765 million USD, posting growths of 18% in volume and 25% in value of trades compared to the figures of the previous week.

According to a report by the IME's International Affairs and PR, the exchange traded on its metals and minerals trading floor 2,751,000 tonnes of commodities valued at almost 608 million USD.

Commodities sold on this floor included 1,029,246 tonnes of cement, 836,000 tonnes of iron ore, 725,274 tonnes of steel, 140,000 tonnes of sponge iron, 21,835 tonnes of zinc, 11,775 tonnes of aluminum, 6,500 tonnes of copper, 190 tonnes of molybdenum concentrate, 33 tonnes of precious metals concentrate, 40 kg of gold bars and 164 Dignity SUV automobiles.

Furthermore, the IME saw on both domestic and export pits of its oil and petrochemical trading floor 245,323 tonnes of commodities worth nearly 147 million USD.

The IME's customers purchased on this floor 92,606 tonnes of polymeric products, 33,280 tonnes of vacuum bottom, 19,000 tonnes of lube cut, 26,996 tonnes of chemicals, 8,400 tonnes of sulfur, 5,406 tonnes of base oil, 240 tonnes of insulation and 65,058 tonnes of bitumen.

Last but not least was the IME's side market with 27,035 tonnes of commodities traded on it.
