451,490 Tonnes of Commodities Changed Hands on IME

On Monday, April 17, 2023, the IME witnessed trade of 53,000 tonnes of iron ore pellets, 34,972 tonnes of bitumen and 200 tonnes of insulation on its export ring.

According to a report by the IME's International Affairs and PR, there were 147,890 tonnes of steel blooms, 19,600 tonnes of galvanized steel sheets, 1,500 tonnes of CRS, 500 tonnes of cast iron ingots, 400 tonnes of aluminum billets and 25 tonnes of aluminum hydroxide traded on its metals and minerals trading floor.

In addition to that, the IME sold 31,118 tonnes of polymeric products, 3,426 tonnes of oil, 300 tonnes of granular sulfur, 113 tonnes of bitumen, 1,508 tonnes of PDA TAR and 18 tonnes of diethylene glycol on its oil and petrochemical trading floor.

IME's cement trading floor was the next which saw trade of 147,964 tonnes of cement.

It's worth noting as well that the IME's open auction trading floor saw trade of 5,500 tonnes of steel slabs and 506 tonnes of PVC.

Last was the IME's side market which saw trade of 2,000 tonnes of steel blooms, 500 tonnes of bituminous anodes (used in aluminum reduction industry), 60 tonnes of polyester staple fiber (PSF), 90 tonnes of metal pipes (grade 2), 200 tonnes of metal scraps and 100 tonnes of heavy oil.
