Steel Blooms Traded on IME

On Monday, January 9, 2023, the IME witnessed trade of 61,450 tonnes of steel blooms on its metals and minerals trading floor.

According to a report by the IME's International Affairs and PR, there were 337,040 tonnes of HRS, 7,000 tonnes of tinplate sheets, 6,000 tonnes of galvanized steel sheets, 700 tonnes of low-grade copper, 250 tonnes of aluminum hydroxide and 12 kg of gold bars traded on its same floor.

Furthermore, customers purchased 35,000 tonnes of vacuum bottom, 22,000 tonnes of steel slabs type C, 4,000 tonnes of copper cathodes, 506 tonnes of PVC and 200 tonnes of molybdenum sulfur on the IME's open auction trading floor.

Based on this report, the exchange saw trade of 4,787 tonnes of base oil, 2,275 tonnes of sodium sulfate, 2,000 tonnes of bitumen and 100 tonnes of granular sulfur on its oil and petrochemical trading floor.

Also, the exchange traded 130,466 tonnes of cement on its cement trading floor.

It's worth noting that the IME's export ring played host to trade of 34,797 tonnes of bitumen and 390 tonnes of slack wax.

Last was the IME's side market which saw trade of 31,220 tonnes of steel slabs, 20,000 tonnes of barite lumps, 500 tonnes of steel blooms, 300 tonnes of bituminous anodes (used in aluminum reduction industry) and 250 tonnes of butadiene.
