Commodities Traded on IME Exceeds 1,765,000 Tonnes

Within the week ending on January 14th, 2022, the IME witnessed trade of 1,765,000 tonnes of commodities with a total trading value of more than 482 million USD on its physical market.

According to a report by the IME's International Affairs and PR, the exchange traded on its metals and minerals trading floor 1,310,000 tonnes of commodities valued at almost 261 million USD.

On this floor, the IME's customers purchased 897,101 tonnes of cement, 172,589 tonnes of steel, 115,000 tonnes of iron ore, 72,000 tonnes of sponge iron, 40,000 tonnes of zinc dust, 9,625 tonnes of aluminum, 5,360 tonnes of copper, 1,400 tonnes of zinc ingots, 140 tonnes of molybdenum concentrate and 1 kg of gold bars.

Furthermore, the IME saw on both domestic and export pits of its oil and petrochemical trading floor 445,566 tonnes of commodities worth more than 214 million USD.

Commodities sold on this floor included 192,000 tonnes of vacuum bottom, 102,402 tonnes of bitumen, 68,553 tonnes of polymeric products, 31,876 tonnes of chemicals, 48,000 tonnes of lube cut, 3,639 tonnes of base oil, 340 tonnes of sulfur and 100 tonnes of argon.

Last but not least was the IME's side market with 10,214 tonnes of commodities traded on it.
