Iron Ore Traded on IME

On Saturday, May 27, 2023, the IME witnessed trade of 367,000 tonnes of iron ore pellets on its metals and minerals trading floor.

According to a report by the IME's International Affairs and PR, the IME sold on the same floor 121,000 tonnes of sponge iron, 5,500 tonnes of alloy rebars, 4,750 tonnes of steel blooms, 3,306 tonnes of I-beams, 650 tonnes of rebars and 100 tonnes of U-channels.

IME's oil and petrochemical trading floor was the next which saw trade of 16,968 tonnes of chemicals, 4,000 tonnes of lube cut (lightweight), 2,576 tonnes of polymeric products, 2,000 tonnes of sulfur lumps and 1,350 tonnes of bitumen.

Moreover, the IME sold 3,195 tonnes of cement in matching trading system.

Based on this report, the exchange saw trade of 280,000 tonnes of iron ore concentrate, 300,000 tonnes of fine iron ore, 40,000 tonnes of vacuum bottom and 280 tonnes of polymeric MDI (PMDI) on its open auction trading floor.

It's worth noting as well that the IME's export ring saw trade of 7,100 tonnes of bitumen and 8,000 tonnes of granular sulfur.

Last but not least was the IME's side market with 1,280 tonnes of coil rebars and 396 tonnes of rebars (made of alloy steel) traded on it.
