Value of Trades Doubled in Iran Mercantile Exchange

Within the week ending on the 6th of August, 2021, the IME witnessed trade of 1,026,000 tonnes of commodities with a total trading value of more than 555 million USD, showing 14% and 99% of growth in volume and value of trades respectively as compared to the previous week.

 According to a report by the IME's international affairs and PR, the exchange sold 603,573 tonnes of commodities on its metals and minerals trading floor worth more than 345 million USD.

On this floor the IME traded 369,793 tonnes of steel, 5,200 tonnes of copper, 7,075 tonnes of aluminum, 120 tonnes of molybdenum concentrate, 30 tonnes of precious metals concentrate, 85,000 tonnes of zinc dust, 210 tonnes of zinc ingots, 105,670 tonnes of cement, 25,000 tonnes of iron ore, 24 kg of gold bars and 5,500 tonnes of DRI.

 The next trading floor was the oil and petrochemical on which the exchange saw trade of 390,250 tonnes of commodities valued at more than 194 million USD.

Commodities purchased on this floor included 99,9540 tonnes of vacuum bottom, 113,850 tonnes of bitumen, 78,200 tonnes of polymeric products, 33,695 tonnes of chemicals, 55,500 tonnes of lube cut, 2,338 tonnes of base oil, 50 tonnes of argon, 290 tonnes of insulation and 5,100 tonnes of sulfur.

It's worth noting that the IME played host to trade of 32,492 tonnes of commodities on its side market as well.
