Commodities Traded on IME Exceeds 1,291,000 Tonnes

Within the week ending on May 6th, 2022, the IME witnessed trade of 1,291,414 tonnes of commodities with a total trading value of more than 323 million USD on its physical market.

According to a report by the IME's International Affairs and PR, the exchange traded on its metals and minerals trading floor 1,181,000 tonnes of commodities valued at more than 229 million USD.

On this floor, the IME's customers purchased 966,853 tonnes of cement, 161,048 tonnes of steel, 23,000 tonnes of sponge iron, 16,000 tonnes of iron ore, 9,900 tonnes of aluminum, 4,320 tonnes of copper, 450 tonnes of zinc, 150 tonnes of molybdenum concentrate and 24 tonnes of precious metals concentrate.

Furthermore, the IME saw trade 103,235 tonnes of commodities on both domestic and export pits of its oil and petrochemical trading floor valued almost 86 million USD.

The exchange's customers purchased on this floor 32,292 tonnes of polymeric products, 22,520 tonnes of chemicals, 18,300 tonnes of vacuum bottom, 16,500 tonnes of lube cut, 12,455 tonnes of bitumen, 1,597 tonnes of base oil, 570 tonnes of sulfur and 40 tonnes of argon.

Last but not least was the IME's side market with 6,983 tonnes of commodities traded on it.
